26 Festivities GERMAN CLUB SOARING HIGH FLYING FAR The German Club brought many students interested in the German language and its culture together. They went on a field trip to see a French movie, then on to lunch at a typical French restaurant. French camp, where only French was spoken, and of course the annual soccer game against the German Club were also a huge part of the year. The Hispanic culture is very prevelant in Southern California, and the Spanish Club was formed in order ro enhonce an awareness of this in interested students. During the year, they attended a Spanish camp and are at various Mexican Restaurants. They also visited Olvero Street in Los Angeles. This club offered scholarships to outstanding Sponish students as well as to students of the Hispanic descent, 'lr-4' I i GPA along with extracurricular activities. Jamie Welsh, a dedicated member of the French Club, works diligently to complete a well-written report on the French culture. Jamie is a three year member of this club and is hop- ing to travel to France sometime to practice what he has learned. , X , 'x Brad Rawls listens closely to the foreign words pronounced by his teacher, Ms. Roberts. Brad is in his third year of French and is quite interested in the different culture. Almost fluent, Brad manages a 3.5 Malcom Womack enjoys his time in the classroom and gives an oral speech in French class. Being active in drama, It's an easy task for him. Festivities 27

They kept in shape by working out in the weight room which was a most rewording experience. These teams were formed to prove that it is possible for girls to play the sport also. l Freshman, Marty Jo Sprulock, enjoys the Winter choir concert which many of her friends are appearing in. Not only is she a Cheerleader, but also the quarter- back for the freshman football team - girls' that is! Festivities 29
