20 Festivities YPO IMPROVES: ART SKETCHES The Art Club is an outstanding organiza- tion on campus. Many ambitious and creative students enjoy spending time do- ing work for competitive art contests. The Art Club helps introduce art history to in- terested students by visiting museums. The art club helped buy a Macintosh computer for the Art Department by selling candy. ,Los Al had a new club on campus this year called Youth Pro- gress Organization. This club was designed to help conditions. Specifically, they helped students find lost articles of clothing, radios and other items. Youth Progress club 'Y members were Ol on campus encouro ,Y ing students to kee E? the school clean and free of trash. The male members of the club policed the bike rack area and adjacent grass strip. Different than most clubs, this one was headed by one of our counselors, Mr. Parmer. The club members were easily identified by the black berets they wore. Los Al Band member and Art member, Suzanne Bazan show groovy spirit on Hippie Day. F.B.L.A. coMPETEs s CLUB sEP.vEs The Future Business Leaders of America Organization was established to promote leadership qualities and abilities. This 'beneficial club has traveled throughout the state to participate in many F.B.L.A. func- tions and competitions. The 5 Club was formed as a service club, dedicated in serving the school and the community. The S Club visited retirement homes, homes for abused children, and other needy organizations. All this was an effort to widen the club members perspec- tives of the needs in our immediate sur- 1 roundings. The club also had special pro- jects to improve our school itself. Besides having to practice every clay, Heidi also has time to keep up her grades and be an active member of extracur- ricular activities such as the Future Business Leaders of America. PHOTCGRAPHY I YOUTH PROGRESS PHGTO SHOOTS FCDR THE STARS Af! -Q i The Los Alamitos Photo Club helps photography students improve their skills and teaches them new techniques. The purpose ot the club was to create an awareness of photo procedures to students interested in photography. Anyone was welcome in the club whether they took photography as an elective or not, Students who were not in the class learned the basic skills involved in using a camera and basic O U ,iff composition. They also learned how to capture shadows, ' lighting, texture, and how to take portraits The Photo Club xx, fm also took port in several photography contests and went on several scenic trips during the year. 3 Actively involved in Los Al's Photography Club, Chorito Adle works in photo class to finish her assignment on shadowing.
