The scores in the past N season 11983-843 were close in most of the games played, with the Gryphons winning 14 out of the 27 games played. Along with the 8 regular league games, invitational tournaments were attended at Grande Cache, Drayton Valley, Grande Centre, Barrhead fhome tournamentl, and Edson. Highlights of the season were winning first place in the Drayton Valley tournament in Decem- ber, defeating Fort MacMurray Composite High School in a close match in the Grande Cache tournament in January, and win- ning a berth in the zone play-offs by easily defeating Westlock and Athabasca in the conference play-offs at the end of Febuary. The season ended in March at the zone play-offs in St. Albert where the Gryphon Boys were defeated by an excellent team from Hinton . Coach Mr. Schabert Assistant Coach Mr. Letovsky 1984 Girl's Basketball The female Gryphons had a successful season this year. Their over-all record this year was 22 wins and 8 losses. They started the season by winning the Grande Cache tournament by defeating Concordia College in the final. The following weekend they won the Drayton Valley tournament, defeating Drayton Valley in the final game. They also won the A consolation final in the Edson tournament. In League play the Gryphons were 7 and l, and their only loss was to Salisbury, a 4-A school. The Gryphons played very well at the zones defeating Edson, but lost to Bev Facey in the final game. The Coaches Message LR..I . Nadeaul Last year 119831 was unprecedented in extramural badmonton.
