V l o L L E Y B A L Rear: Marie Driessen, Colleen Wimmer, Monica Driessen IJ Connie Gerard, Tammy Conklin, Mrs. G. Lamothe Front: Francie Fortier, Leonda Schmaus, Jodene Hapienko Dana Urlacher, Shelley Kirchner The Gryphon girls enjoyed a very successful and progressive 1983-84 season. A combination of veteran grades eleven and twelve players coupled with some fine grade ten talent led to an exciting and enthusiatic squad. The Gryphons faced very well both in league and tournament play. In seven tournament outings the girls won two firsts, three seconds and and one third place finish. In league play the Gryphons won their conference championship and advanced to the N.W. zone playoffs before they were defeated in the finals. With another year's experience and knowledge, we can only expect bigger and better things from this squad in 1984-85. Mrs. Lamothe Coach Rear: Lana Meunier, Shauna Thompson, Sharee Robertson Mandy Close, Gail Gelety,Phy11is Tiemstra, Vicki Holgate, Mr. D. Bouyea Front:Karen Maclntosh, Loreena Griffith, Rhonda Golby Lisa Neitsch, Shelley Wegner This year was a very good one for our Jr. Varsity team. The girls played well in the four tournaments they attended this year. All 18 girls alternated in a rotation, and I believed they learned something about Volleyball and team play. All the girla played volleyball for the enjoymentg they played well and developed their skills as a useful by-product. Next year, perhaps we'll be able to win a few tournaments. D Dave Bouyea Coach
