In 1968, Five Points, Bonnertown, Liberty Grove, Loretto Elementary, Sacred Heart, Leoma, St. Joe, Iron City, and West Point sent 132 ambitious students to Loretto High School. To guide us through our first year, we trusted our own good judgment to lead the way. We elected as President - Bobby Golden; Vice-President - Cheryl Stephenson; Secretary - Kathy Newton. Our freshman superlatives were Mr. and Miss Class - Jerry Peters and Charlotte Todd; Most Popular - Susan Beckman and Stanley Hurst; Most School Spirit - Desda Passarella and Ricky Risner; Wittiest - Jenny Rhodes and Johnny Sandy; Most Likely-to-Succeed - John Ho liman and Janis Flatt; Best-looking - Mary McKinney and Bobby Golden; Most Studious - Mary Green and Gale Hughes; Best-a 11-around - Randall Earnest and Judy Short; Most Athletic - Tanya Pas- sarella and Danny Dishongh. Our attendant to the football Queen for this year was Mary Green. We started our sophomore year with only 122 students. At last we found the time to elect our sponsors: Mrs. Martha Crawford and Coach Johnny Den- ton. That year we elected as our officers: President - Gale Hughes; Vice President - Jan Rhodes; Secretary-Treasurer - Charlotte Todd; and Reporter - Danny Urban. Our superlatives were Mr. and Miss Class - Charlotte Todd and Wayne Hood; Wittiest - Diane Whitehead and Henry Hill; Best-a 11-around - Mike Ferguson and Tanya Passarella; Most School Spirit - Chuck Barnett and Sherry Neese; Most Studious - Ricky Risner and Desda Passarella; Most Ath- letic - Cathy Creekmore and Mitchell Blair. Our new principal for this year was Mr. Donie Simbeck. The Homecoming attendant was Mary McKinney. We started our Junior year with 117 students and a new sponsor, Coach Edens. This year we elected as Class officers: Secretary - Sherry Neese; Reporter - Roger Etienne; Vice President - Desda Passarella; President - Gale Hughes. This year our superlatives were Mr. and Miss Class - Bobbie Koster and Jerry Peters; Best-all-around - Sherry Neese and Stanley Hurst; Most Ath- letic - Tanya Passarella and Danny Dishongh; Most Studious - Desda Passarella and Gale Hughes; Most School Spirit - Mary McKinney and Ricky Risner; Most Beautiful Girl - Cheryl Stephenson; Most Handsome Boy - John Hollman. Our Homecoming attendants were Charlotte Todd and La Wanda Isbel. Arnold Brown was chosen first string center in T-V-C play. We started out our senior year with 99 students. Officers for this year were President - Donald Hutchings; Vice-President - Danny Dishongh; Secre- tary-Treasurer - Melinda Old. Superlatives for this year were Mr. and Miss Class - Charlotte Todd and Stanley Hurst; Most Studious - Cheryl Stephenson and Gale Hughes; Most Athletic - Arnold Brown and Tanya Passeralla; Best- looking - Johnny Sandy and Mary McKinney; Most School Spirit - Bobbi Koster and Danny Sims; Best-all-around - Rita Hughes and Henry Hill. Our Home- coming Queen was Jenny Rhodes and her senior attendants were Cathy Creek- more and Kathy Fox. The senior class won first place in die float contest. Gale Hughes and Mary Green were chosen as Mr. and Miss L. H. S. Our DAR representative was Jackie Hollman. This year our football team received the T. V.C. trophy. Mike Sledge was chosen for first string T. V.C. and second string all state. Donald Hutchings was selected as a senior finalist in the Merit Scholarship Program. Albert Hollman received the C. W. Hannon Scholarship and the alternates were Gale Hughes and Donald Hutchings. In the citizenship essay contest sponsored by the Civitan Club, Henry Kerstiens placed first, Desda Passarella placed second, and Cheryl Stephenson placed third. Our senior cheerleaders were Linda Wilson, Charlotte Todd, and Bobbi Koster. The girls basketball team won third place in district play. Tanya Passerella made the All-Tournament District Team. This year we began to move into our new school. Use Ultrabrite for sex appeal.
