970 Mustang Coretto High School Coretto, Zemessee foreword Man has finally collected enough power to destroy himself. What about war? Well, we have to defend ourselves, don’t we? In the years to come, these problems will have to be answered by us. The future is ours. As time moves on, this book will hold the memories of the years that played an important role in our lives. If we help each other, we might not skid any deeper in this ugly jumble of violence and racism. The signs of the times have influenced us, and now it is our job to work it out. I wish to especially thank Miss Jordan, and Mr. Turpin for their help. I want to thank the faculty, the staff and the student body, for without them there would be no yearbook. As a senior I realize how important it is to have a yearbook, and I hope it will help you keep many happy memories alive in your heart. M iss Mora Qrey Jordan Dedication We, the Seniors of 1970, dedicate the 1970 Mustang to Miss Flora Grey Jordan, our loyal sponsor, hard at work for four vigorous years. We wish to ex- press our appreciation to her for her patience and guidance. The 1970 Seniors say “Thank You' Miss Jordan. yWr. 'Dome Simbeck, Principal Principal’s .Message As we enter the decade of the 70’s each of us must strive to make this a better world in which to live. In the 60's we have seen developments which cause us to look apprehensively to the future. We can, however, be comforted to know that our youth today can meet the challenge. You have shown a real interest in the problems •of the world and a willingness to do something better. I hope that you students at L.H.S. will be prepared to meet the task. 7 8 MRS. Broken leg and Zhanks to Mrs Myrick for Hiding the Pep Pus 205 Master minds meet Jh Retrospect I cannot express the feelings in my heart as this yearbook comes to an end. It has been such a hassell, due to the difficulties Loretto High has endured. My sincere thanks to Miss Jordan and Mr. Turpin for their untiring efforts for making this yearbook a success. Though we experienced hardships, the guidance of these two understanding people always pulled us through. Special thanks to Mr. Donie Simbeck who was always very cooperative and es- pecially helpful to the seniors. My thanks also go to Mac Brown, who gave us his time and talents to make our photographs when called upon and also helped put the finishing touch to the book. There are many others to thank but each one knows their own contribution in making the annual and I will not name them. I wish good luck to the next year's editors, staff and sponsors. I hope they realize what is ahead of them. To you who have been part of Loretto High School, I'm hoping our yearbook will mean happiness and fond memories throughout the years. Peace, 206 TAYLOR PUBLISHING COMPANY The World's Best Yearbooks Are Taylor-made
