olloreffo ollou Mnfziniacefn On. September 9th Loretto Lou proudly walked up the front stairs for now she was a senior. She saw that friendly greetings and smiles were being exchanged among the faculty and students. Loretto Lou knew that there was much work ahead and that a great deal depended on the senior class. The seniors proved their exceptionally good taste on September 19th, when they chose as their leaders Joan Healy, Mary Therese Cook, Dorothy Horbach and Marguerite VVagner. Plans were put into ex- ecution and the first month passed. October 7th marked the Sodality Reception with forty-five angelic faces shadowed by white veils, kneel-- ing at the altar of God to be received into the Sodality. The freshmen were formally received into the school on October 14th when green bows, freshmen, seniors, and hot dogs galore were packed into buses headed for the Point. Lou began to realize that being a senior meant quite an exciting life for on October 15th there were smiles on their faces as they proudly showed their class ringsl The time was swiftly passing and Lou was deeply engrossed in school work but took time out to plan the Sodality Dance. On Novem- ber 14th the Sodalists with their ubest beauxv danced to the music of jim Barclay. The next date on Louis well filled calendar was the Loyola Play Contest in which Loretto was represented by ':The Lord's Prayerw. After the Christmas Play, :Christmas on the Village Squarev, the only conclusion she could reach was that nbeauty, brains, and talentn made up Loretto. The students made their choice of that ideal when on January 21st they chose Helen Barton as Miss Loretto. January meant those everlasting headaches - examinations and that eternal joy - retreat. The seniors put themselves wholeheartedly in the spirit of their last retreat. It was climaxed with the blessing of the class rings. Page 6

The juniors proved that they were Kgood little managersv when they held their junior Prom on February Gth. The SnowHake Room never looked more lavish and sweeter music was never heard. So for the following weeks the juniors hummed about their prom and Lou and her friends excitedly made plans for their trip to Canada. They left on February 19th and had four fun-packed days. Plans for the Gym Demonstration replaced the talk about that wonderful week- endv and on February 27th and 29th the seniors proved to be inilitaris- tically inclined as they did the traditional Military Drill climaxing a magnificently planned demonstration. April 9th and llth brought the Senior Play, Quality Street , under the capable direction of Miss Murphy. Beauty was proved when the seniors and their none an fonlyv arrived in shining armor for the annual Father-Daughter dance on April 16th. The month of May brought' many happy and exciting events. The entire student body paid tribute to Mary on Sunday afternoon, May 16th, as they filled the aisles of St. Bernardis singing their beloved hymns. Lou and the other seniors smiled proudly as the strains of Loretton filled the East Room of the Edgewater, on May 21st, closing their wonderful Senior Prom. They formally said '4Good-byen to their alittle sistersv, the juniors, at the junior-Senior Banquet at the VVinder1nere East on May 27th. The following week Lou was completely surrounded with plans for that all-important date. The night of nights finally came and Lou was trying to suppress that lump in her throat. But as the strains of Ave Maria Lorettov filled the church she raised a tear-streaked face to the altar to thank God that she had been privileged to be one of Lorettds children. Oh Mother Mild, where, ere we roam, Call all Loretto,s children homef, ilngc 7
