According to Webster, it is an act of admini- stering. But to many of us the definition is inadequate. To the students of Loretto, it means people --people who give their generous assistance and guidance; people, whose duties and achiev ements are often unknown to most of us; people who are dedicated to the betterment of higher education. To them we extend our grateful appreciation. Father Bares Superintendent Father Matthew Nyman Principal L Mother M. Jane Frances Assistant Principal IP FACULTY Mother M. CLASSES « ♦ ♦ mm w ' . E f ls i ' - Father Bares offers the first Mass in the new school. PRAISING MASS AND Class officers bring the bread and wine to the altar during the Offertory. In keeping with the Christmas spirit, the stu- dents exhibit their generosity. Father Nyman delivers a Christmas message to the congregation. GOD THROUGH MUSIC Mrs. Wood seems well pleased by the performance of the Glee Club at the Dedication Ceremonies. Below--The freshmen partcipants in Mrs. Woods choral group display their eager spirit. 1 can ' t reach that high note, snick- ers Jackie LaRock as the rest of the chorus tries to harmonize. Even outside of his religion class, Randy Rogers takes time out from his busy day for God. Few people know the art of sewing, but the sophomore girls are determined to stick to the job. Mrs. Virgil LaJoice offers her services to the Home Economics class in Mother Benita ' s absence. MODERN EASES Patti and Avette find there ' s more to cleaning up than meets the eye. EQUIPMENT HOME- MANAGEMENT Penny and Diane, left to themselves, find that it takes two to frost a cake. Ann and ' ' Jo practice furniture arrangement in Family Living class. Senior girls prepa re to taste delicacies which they have prepared in Home Economics. - - SCIENCE Coach McKerroll tries to teach Craig Wilds, Bob Capriccioso, and Jan Bednarz a painstaking biology lesson. Mike McCarthy and Brian Ran- son conduct a physical science class which seems amusing to their onlookers as well as to themselves. O.K. Friz, us how it works ! ! show A physics project takes many long hours of intense work and strict patience; Chris Marietti is in- deed a fine example of this initiative. (INTCRCON) SYSTEM ACTION AND EXPERIENCE A frequent site for Mother Jane Frances and her Physical Science class is the lab where Bob Conners and Ray Cobb demonstrate a pulley experiment. This portion of the Fres hman General Science class is hard at work in a scientific atmosphere. RGy MOTfj Fame came to Bernard Fabry for his fine performance and accomplishments in his physics project Transfer of Energy by Wave Motion. MATH MANIA CONFRONTS STUDENTS Bill Spuehler and Randy Rogers are busy at tJie board in Algebra II while their studious classmates are straining over the Quadratic Equation. Will Mother Jane Francis ever get Algebra across to this vivacious Algebra I class? R- -Mother St. Catharine supervises her Geom- etry class as they learn the basic principles of a circle. While the rest of the Mechanical Drawing class are deeply absorbed in their graphics, Tim McCasey snatches a look at the latest Science and Math Weekly. Jerry learns the skillful art of conducting busi- ness over the telephone. The bookkeeping class listens attentively to Mother St. Catharine as she gives them instruc- tions on how to prepare a homework paper. PREPARATION FOR THE BUSINESS WORLD Typing isn ' t as easy as it looks when it ' s against the rules to glance at the keyboard. History Speaks in Many LANGUAGES Latin II works for progress. Latin I tries: Veni, vidi, vici. If you take French I, French II wiU come a little easier. ' ' Next to Living. History Is the Best Way to Learn The Nature of Man. Will Durante Citizenship in action . . . The American Legion presented flags to representatives of each homeroom. I hope Ceasar didn ' t have this much trouble. Frank Formolo takes the American History Class on a tour via the overhead projector. The new library comes in handy when you have ref- erence work to catch up on. After viewing a series of movies on the Humanities, the Eng- lish III group has trouble concentrat- ing on the everyday ritual of English grammar. An informal journalism class is conducted on the floor of the Publications Room. That ' s the way the ball bounces!
