NATIONAL l'lQzRSOCgY X 'I e il 1 OUVC1' Patterson Del Blain I Darlene LaPlante Brian Fenlon i l I 4 la t S Q 741 Q The question is asked, Who will be the first to conquer outer space? We seem quite content now that we have the Explorer but we cannot allow ourselves to slacken in the race for the conquest of space. Encouraging scholarship in students so they may go on into Science and other important fields and become the future leaders of the United States will keep us in the race. The National Honor Society is an organization which has rallied to this cause. The object of our Loretto Chapter of Loretto Catholic Central High School is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership and to encourage the develop- ment of character in the pupils of Loretto High School. In order to be eligible for membership a student must be of Junior or Senior standing, maintain a Scholastic average of 850111 and be outstanding in Service, Leadership and Character. The National Honor Society Pledge sums up its ideals very well. I pledge myself to uphold the high purposes of the National honor Society to which I have been elected, I will be true to the principles for which it stands, I will be loyal at all times to my school, and will maintain and encourage high standards of Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service.
