The Mackinac Straits Bridge in its first phase of construction. Our Ordained Keep them I pray thee, dearest Lord, Keep them, for they are Thine-- Thy priests whose lives burn out before Thy consecrated shrine. Keep them, for they are in the world, Though from the world apartg When earthly pleasures tempt, allure,-- Shelter them in Thy heart. Keep them, and comfort them in Hours of loneliness and pain, The Reverend David LeLievre, the first graduate of Loretto High School to enter the active army of Christ. As a student at Loretto, David LeLievre stood out in his class and set the pace for those to follow him. Not only was he Pres- ident of his class in his third and fourth years, but also was on the Varsity Basketball team in his sen- ior year, besides this he was active in many other school activities. Upon his graduation from Loretto High School in 1948 he entered the Diocesan Minor Seminary in St. Nazianz, Wisconsin. In 1952 he was transferred to the Major Semi- nary of the Sacred Heart in Detroit. He was ordained a priest of God in June of 1958. When all their life of sacrifice For souls seem but in vain. Keep them, and O remember, Lord, They have no one but Thee, Yet they have only human hearts, With human frailty. Keep them as spotless as the Host, That daily they caressq Their every thought and word and deed Deign, dearest Lord, to bless.
