So, we thought it would be fun to find out what the average class member was like. Here is a little story to tell you about her. In the month of June, seventeen years ago, a baby girl, who would eventually become Loretto's average senior, was born. She had brown hair and brown eyes. Being a Gemini, she always held a variety of interests. Throughout her years in school, she became involved in English, science, and drama. Although she was diligent with her academic studies, she still enjoyed recreation. She took lunch- time jaunts to McDonald's, and any- where from five to ten nights each month were devoted to her love life. As Loretto watched her average senior, an appealing young woman of 120 lbs. and 5'5 tall, prepare for graduation and commencement, they knew she was full of vitality and ready for anything that the world had to offer. 129 131 AT LORETTO ...we con be 135 ourselves «■up® 137 ... we con act silly 139 ...we con be leaders 140 We passed through the halls today The doors were open wide and sunlight streamed through the window upon the empty desks So neat and clean. No one was there. Everything was bare. Unless some spirit hovered there, Silent and unseen. Oh silent halls! Daily witness to life's most proven truth: Can walls and wood drink in, absorb, The anguished thoughts of Love and youth? Are you the soulless same Having heard poignant prayers and Agony-laden words? With heavy hearts And one last look we hurry through With the sound of our departing footsteps We seemed to hear, From out the school, A sigh, One plaintive word, a faintly echoed Good-Bye.
