ESD 7 .GFS Jvrasmee abil Thirty years ago this school became the Lorenzo Independent School with eleven grades. It has grown constantly from that small school into a well-organized, ably planned, and efficiently operated institution of learning. Today the vision of the first trustees has been realized. In compiling this l95l Annual, all efforts were toward capturing, with words and pictures, something of the spirit and friendliness that prevails on the campus. It is hoped that at least one page in UThe Hornetn will touch every student enrolled and that it will serve as a vivid reminder of those many happy days spent at Lorenzo School. To all those who contributed, either directly or indirectly, to the completion of this yearbook, I am sincerely grateful. To my staff, Thanks! Kham fddfaf Delton Kelley In honor of his high ideals and his efforts to pass these alms on to us as students his great interest in our phystcal and mental development, his warm smile, love, and i comradeship, and to show our deep apprecia- tion, we wish to dedicate the 1951 HORNET to Mr. Grady E. Only those with experience in the development of such a project know what difficulties have to be overcome. The school yearbook is a worthy project because it re- presents the school to the community, it embodies a senti- ment which grows dearer to parents and students with the passing of time, and its production affords learning oppor- tunities not otherwise available. A good annual exemplifies team work and cooperation of the kind that is essential to good citizenship. 1 Therefore, I commend this book to our community and congratulate you on its achievement. Yours sincerely, w. o. chQr ?u2aa6,eaZ'a Wleaaaga Members of the Senior Class, Students of Lorenzo High School, You are learning those ideals here in school that you will carry over into your adult life. we hope and feel that you will make us proud that we had a small part in teaching those ideals which will prepare you to take your places as good citizens in tomorrow's society. Sincerely, 3 ..A.M22.2f S. P. Thornton Principal CH.S.D 3' n 6 . Congratulations to the annual staff on the presentation of this issue of the HORNET. 'It is in keeping with the progress of Lorenzo Public Schools. The many new features of this book are symbolic of the progressive spirit of our schools. Your excellent portrayal of the life of its school will pro- vide fond memories of the stu- dent body and the school activi- ties for 1950-51. Our school is proud of its fine student body. This year has been one of our best. We look forward to better things for the future. My congratulations to the Seniors of 1950-Sl and my thoughts to all who have made this year a success.
