Joan Tillett grumbles about boys and teachers especially. Martha Myers grumbles because Perky is in the Army. Jerry Webb grumbles that there is always too much work. Shirley Bordner grumbles that there isn't time enough to do anything. Ruth Stocker grumbles that there is too much work to be done and not enough time to do it. John Cheeks grumbles that he doesn't have enough Study Halls to sleep in. John Bailey grumbles because he can't have a driver's lic- ense. Elwin Cross grumbles that there are too many bosses. C. Ruth Daugherty sf Ma --- CLASS PROPHECY lt was a humid day in August. My private secretary Shirley Bordner, and I decided to take a month's vacation from my duties as a doctor. We made arrangements for our families, packed our va1ise's and called a taxi. when the taxi arrived we discovered that the driver was one of our former classmates Elwln Cross. On the way to the airport we stopped at a flower shop, so that our husbands could buy us a corsage. We went in and much to our surprise another former classmate, Joan Tillett, was in charge. After leaving the Floral Shop we hurried to the airport because it was getting late. With less than a mile to go we told Blwin to hurry, In a few seconds we heard a siren. When the patrol car pulled along side of us, we noticed it had two of our class- mates, Ed Bohyer and Jerry Webb in lt. It seems that at the age of twenty they received their orders, and as luck would have it they were assigned to the same territory. Upon recognizing us and finding that we were in a hurry to begin our vacation, they forgot the charge and we were once again on our way. We arrived just in time to get aboard. When the plane was ready to fly the stewardess came to fasten the safety belts, we were surprised to see Harriet Danso. She welcomed us aboard, but explained that she had to fasten the other passengers seat belts, and would have time to talk later. When Harriet came back we asked her about the crew on the plane. She told us that Dale Fowler was the pilot, and John Cheeks was the co-pilot. Harriet also told us that only a week before Marvin Waggoner, had traveled on the plane to Hollywood. It seems he has a movie contract with Paramount. We arrived in New York and bought tickets to a television program. When we reached the television studio that evening, much to our surprise, John Bailey was M. C. of the program. This was our night for excitement. On his program he was featuring Janet Ferguson as songstress, Martha Myers, who by now is the worldfs champion rollerskater, and Jim Shook world known comedian. John asked us to stay after the show and the eight of us would go to the Stork Club and remlnisce old times. Upon looking around we discovered Patty Romain and her husband who were just returning from a big business meeting in Europe. They joined us and later that same evening we went to a stage show, NI Led 3 Wivei' Upon returning to our hotel we were amazed to find that Arthur Gill was the owner. He told us that soon after graduation he came to New York to find excitement, but he said he found all the excitement he wanted in running a hotel. After an other week of excitement and sight seeing we had to return home. On the trip home we met Ruth Daugherty on the airplane. She related to us that she is now the private secretary to the president of the Carneige Steel Company. Well finally we arrived back home after a very interesting and eventful trip. We certainly were glad we took the trip, because we met all of our old classmates. Ruth Stocker Shirley Bordner.
