THE ACHIEVERS The Loras - St. Thomas More Award is bestowed each year on the student chosen by the faculty as the outstand- ing senior. The criteria for the selection are scholarship, leadership, personal qualities, and contribution to the general well-being of the Loras Community manifested by the student. This year’s winner is Gregory A. Schrobilgen. Other finalists were Rod Bluml and Eric Schwister. Prof. Ken Kraus was the invited speaker at the Senior Honors Lun- cheon. 22 Senior Awards The 1985-86 winner of the Faculty Scholar- ship Award is Anne Koopman. Anne received three scholarships in the areas of English, History, and Mathematics. She was involved in many Christian Leadership groups and Community Ser- vice groups. The Roger Rechenmacher Memorial Scholarshi for Creativity was given to Mike Ironside. This et was open to all Juniors who, regardless of major meet these qualifications: 1) one or more talents in the creative arts, 2) a cumulative grade point aver. of 3.00. The winner was elected by the Student Se from names submitted by the committee, Maureen Carroll (Senior), Elementary Education and German Major, has been awarded a Fulbright Grant to work as a teacher's assistant in West Ger- many. age nate
