PO Sneak Preview On February 29th, 1980, Tuohy Auditorium saw the bright lights of Broadway as the 26th annual APO Sneak Preview unfolded. Alpha Phi Omega has sponsored the show for its' yearly run. Under the theme of Broadway , students from Loras and Clarke assembled a show made up of numerous group numbers, solos, dance acts and comedy routines. The 1980 production was produced by Bill Reilly, directed by Dave George. With music directed by Carl Malsack, and comedy directed by Marc Frost. All proceeds from the show are distributed to various Dubuque Chari- ties such as Muscular Dystrophy. '80 Dance Marathon The 1980 dance marathon for Multiple Sclerosis was a great success. A grand total of 53,500 was raised by the 23 couples who danced for 30 hours - from Friday night of March 15 to Saturday March 16. Money was raised by many -means during the course of the 30 hours. Such as swallowing gold fish, walking on hands, and other activities. The theme of this years dance marathon was Dancin So Life Won't Pass Them By. The marathon was organized by Chairman Tom Cherrier and Co-Chairman Peg Brachle. Mark Critelli and Nancy Briggs were awarded a trophy for raising the most money during the marathon. Many thanks were to go out to assorted sources for their aid in the success of the marathon. Dennis Higgins donated the use of his pro-sound system as well as records and some DJ. assistance. D.j.'s from some of the radio stations and discos also joined in the cause. The merchants of Dubuque also did their part by supplying food for the dancers and workers. But mostly the thanks went out to the dancers, pledgers and anyone who in the course of the marathon, donated money to M.S. It was they who were responsible for the real success.
