PO Sneak Preview On February 29th, 1980, Tuohy Auditorium saw the bright lights of Broadway as the 26th annual APO Sneak Preview unfolded. Alpha Phi Omega has sponsored the show for its' yearly run. Under the theme of Broadway , students from Loras and Clarke assembled a show made up of numerous group numbers, solos, dance acts and comedy routines. The 1980 production was produced by Bill Reilly, directed by Dave George. With music directed by Carl Malsack, and comedy directed by Marc Frost. All proceeds from the show are distributed to various Dubuque Chari- ties such as Muscular Dystrophy. . . . Poland and Russia One of the first legs of the trip, as the singers leave Finland. The Black Madonna of Poland. Charlie Pink rests enroute. This sight meant death to thousands of jews during WW ll. The gates to Auschwitz. 5 f L.. I-:J The singers leave their hotel to tour Warsaw. J..--f The Clarke-Loras Singers, with many Loras students as members have, in the past toured Poland, but this Christmas they were invited to sing in Russia as well. As part of the Russian Tour, the Choir was not able to sing any of their religious music, so a second concert was prepared. The tour of Poland was enjoyable, with tours of old forts, cathedrals, market- places, and old-style cities on the agenda. The group also visited the concentration camp of Auschwitz. The group was not allowed to sing in Russia, but did manage to protest by singing several religious songs in Moscow and refusing to attend a lecture in Leningrad.
