Foreword c5ls a painting, or a novel, or a poem is at best only a faint shadow of Nature, so this Annual is totally unable to show Columbia College life in all its manifold phases. It does not tell the whole story; it does not attempt to do so; but it does, we hope, give a glimpse of every notable activity at Columbia. When the passing years lend their en¬ chantment to the view of our Alma Mater, and the cares of life oppress and shadows fall around us, may the Purgold of 1926 bring bach “the tender grace of a day that is dead” and make us feel on our troubled brows a breath from the morning of life.
