Superintendent Dear Students, Fellow Workers, and Friends: The chief weapon of a Democracy is an educated people. As long as we continue to progress educationally, our way of life will grow stronger. Ignorance breeds dissension and unrest: Con- ditions which help the Isms to thrive. We must not allow any isms in our lives except Ameri- canism. In order to accomplish this, we need public support for better local education. Without the backing of a community, a school can not do its job. The Seniors of 1955 have been exposed, in the past four years, to a better education than has any other Senior Class in the history of Loraine High School. Many of you received much, and a few of you, little of what the school had to offer. The degree of your accomplishment will not be known for some time yet to come. However, you have just passed one of the many milestones in the pathway of life. Whatever direction you now take, you will carry with you a large share of the responsibility of the future of our society. Square your shoulders and bear your burden well. I should like to express my appreciation to the students of Loraine for their wonderful coopera- tion in making the 1954-1955 school year a pleasant and successful one. To the faculty and em- ployees, I wish to say Thanks for a job well done. To our many patrons and friends, we hope you will continue tobe a welcome part of our school community. It has been an extreme pleasure to work with you this year. Sincerely , bmmlwC. Donald E. Robbins Superintendent MR, DONALD E. ROBBINS
