Endow Our School . Twolve ACTING PRINCIPAL Since Ianuary, Mr. I. F. Calta, regularly our Assistant Principal, has taken over the task of Acting Principal while Mr. Seidner is at the Ohio State University working on his Doctor's degree. Mr. Calta arrived at Lorain High School from Whittier in September of 1949, and assumed the duties of Sophomore Guid- ance Counselor. Since then. Mr. Calta has participated in a host of activities ranging from Guidance to Administra- tion. Mr. Calta, in addition to the many other duties he performs, takes an ac- tive interest in school activities and when time permits, he can be found at any of the school organization meetings. He is also a familiar figure at all ath- letic events, including those played at other schools. Along with Mr. Seidner, Mr. Calta reflects the philosophy of stu- dent planning and participation in school organizations and activities. Mr. Calta is active in community affairs. and his co-operation has meant the suc- cess of many functions. PRINCIPAL Since Ianuary Mr. Earle Seidner, our princi- pal, hasn't been seen too often around Lorain High school. He is studying toward his Doc- tor of Philosophy Degree at Ohio State Uni- versity. Although Mr. ,Seidner is working on this degree, he still finds time for a few hours each week to come back to Lorain and settle any problem which needs his attention. One example of Mr. Seidner's relationship with the school involved his presence when the A Cappella Choir made their trip to Cincin- nati to sing for the National Convention of High School Principals. The choir was happy to note Mr. Seidner at the doorway as they entered the famous Hall of Mirrors in the Netherland Plaza Hotel. They were more pleased when they saw him surrounded by men from many parts of the country who were thanking him for recommending and obtaining the A Cappella Choir for the convention.
