This year, Miss Shufflin and a group of enthusiastic Seniors organized a new group, the Pep Club. Although it was new, the club was far from inactive. They held a breakfast for the varsity football team the morning of the EC game, and it was such a success that they held a dinner in the Com- mons for the varsity basketball team before the Columbia game. As a sign of spirit, the Pep Club also sold attractive red Bleacher Bums teeshirts and spirit buttons for the EC game. Their wild cheering and flaming red pom-poms urged our teams onward throughout the year.

As usual, this little-publicized, high-powered group had a very successful year. The students received on-the-job training while winning many awards for merchanising, public relations work, and so on. Here at L C, the showcase wasa highly visible sign oftheir success, decorated for Easter, Christmas, the Prom, and other occasions -- and always with a marketing angle in mind. Tom Muzilla and Marianne Socha were the club's officers, here remembering the time Mr. LoPrestl slalomed right over another man's skis -7- while he was still in them.
