Student gov't symbol of service The atmosphere of Christian brotherhood, spirit, and leadership that began when Student Govt. mem- bers joined Brother Bob for a retreat at the begin- ning of the year made 1977-78 the success it was. Brotherhood was evident as they organized a swing- ing disco night and Fayrewether concert. The Activ- ities Committee--active as always, led by Chris Werbylo--organized both Homecoming and a re- vised Spartan Sunshine Day that brightened every- one's spirits. The Publicity Committee--chaired by Tami Amiri--saw that elections ran smoothly and invited students from many area schools to visit L C. Student Government's leadership made the Thanks- giving Food Drive a record-breaker, while the Blood Bank drive produced over one hundred pints, thanks to Sue Debrason and the Liturgical Committee. Leadership also enabled LC students to beat out EC in the March of Dimes Twenty Mile Walk-A-Thon. Scholarship was not forgotten, as Sister Ellen Mary and Student Govt. planned the Honors Assembly and brought us M.J. Quinn's multi-media presentation on humor in America. They united the entire student body in school masses, and united themselves through biweekly meetings. Students were kept in- formed through the Student Govt. board, where Tim Diamond updated the monthly calendar, minutes of the meetings, and Alumnotes, while Debby Lu- kotch kept us posted on sports. With a year like this, is it any wonder the Ohio Association of Student Councils gave our Student Govt. an honor award as one of Ohio's best?
