Pep Club Treasurer. 3 ' ' . 4 CLASS HISTORY OF 1947 In the year of 1943 fate threw a group of slx happy little freshman together into one pleasant class We halled from all over the surrounding countryside Maxlne Anderson came from Dlstrlct 61 where she had received all af her flrst elght years of grade school RoseMary Isaacson entered hlgh school from dlstrlct 49 where she had received her educatxon for exght years Mane Urbom had gone to Dlstrlct 34 for elght years The last three months of her exghth year were spent nn D1str1ct 61 Carolyn Mattson had a smatterlng of learnlng from three different grade schools Her fxrst three years were spent ln Dlstrlct 16 the next year ln Dlstrlct 61 and the last four years ln the Loomxs grade school Wayne Carlson spent the flrst s1x months of hls fu-st year of school ln Dzstrxct 45 and then came to the Loomls grade school to complete hls e1gh years of grade school The slxth member of our orzgmal freshman class was Roger Swanson whom we regret to have lost After his fxrst seven months of hugh school he moved wlth his family to Kxmball Nebraska Our freshman year was quite eventful We had two parties wxth the sophomores and a freshman party which Miss Mamie Ryan our class sponsor gave us at her home one Sunday evening An outstandmg occurance during thls year was a Fish Fry The biology class was studylng fish life The boys went to a nearby zrrlgatnon dxtch to get specimen but brought back buckets full of fish The girls Immediately began cleamng fxsh ln the labratory After the job was fuushed the lab tables were covered with flsh scales Thls experiment resulted in the memorable Fish Fry The bxology class also had H hlke to the CHHYOUS Instead of hlkmg we had the mgen ulty to borrow horses to ride Our sophomore year was just a year of study and proved rather dull nn comparison wlth the freshman year We entered the Dlstrlct muslc contest this year and our trlo Maxlne Marie and Carolyn won a superlor rating Mlss Mable Swanson was our sponsor for the year of 44 45 Our memorable JUDIOI' year saw the annual junlor Semor Banquet go over wtth a bang on March 19 1946 Although lt was stren uous work both mentally and physically lt was great fun The theme of our banquet was Rainbow To raise money for thas banquet we gave a comedy play Listen to Leon ln which we gall had a part Thls play was presented December ll Another day to be remembered IS the morning the semors gave us a breakfast It was held m the Home Ee room m our beloved high hool Our sponsor for that vea was adam Mable Swanson Y . . y .
