Commencement The Class of 1988 shared its last moments together amidst parents and friends. Graduation exercises were held May 27, 1988 at 8:00 p.m. in the high school gym. The processional was performed by the LHS Band under the direction of Mr. Ed Hamilton. Father James Lex gave the invocation. The chorus and band each made musical contributions. Following the speeches made by class valedictorian, salutatorian and officers, the class was presented with diplomas. The benediction was given by Father Lex. The class was attired in black caps and gowns with black and gold tassles. The girls carried yellow roses with teal and ivory ribbons. Valedictorian, Chris Mauder, speaking on self-respect. The salutatory address on happiness was presented by Julie Anderson. Proud to be walking in the recessional, with diplomas in hand, are the newest members of Loogootee High School Alumni. 7
