Tonight It You May 3, 1986 marked one of the most memorable nights many juniors and seniors will ever experience; the prom. Through misty eyes and a few smiles caps were straightened, gowns were perfected, and collars pinned. In the minutes before our final en- trance into the gymnasium, our minds filled with many questions and, of course, memories. As we sat before parents, teachers, friends, and family we realized a stage in our lives had ended. A stage we would soon expand and build a future upon. We could now only look back upon high school with smiles and tears. We were to look forward to college, work, or perhaps the service. But we carried with us the magic of high school, and that will never fade, for WHAT LIES BEHIND US AND WHAT LIES AHEAD OF US ARE SMALL MATTERS COM- PARED TO WHAT LIES WITHIN US. All smiles: Roger Sterling and lanet Mattingly '86 Seniors sing their final song as LHS students. Every Senior class has those people who are the achievers; the bad drivers, the nice dressers, the nosers and the partiers. The Senior class of 1986 also has those people who they felt stood out from everyone else. In the next few pages we would like to show you who these people are. Freshmen As the 1985-86 school year began L.H.S. welcomed a new class of freshmen. The class of '89 began the year as typical freshmen; nervous and teased, confused and lost. But as the year progressed they soon began to fit in with the rest of high school society. Highlights of the school year included getting class rings, having their first fund raiser, and being able to be included in all high school activities. Eric Bradley doing his Don Johnson imitation. Freshmen Clay Armstrong getting his class ring. Freshman Feature 45 Sophomores This was the year for the class of 88 to relax. As sophomores they were no longer under pressure for being the youngest in high school but, they didn't have the pressures of being the oldest either. Many sophomores received their driver's licenses during the year. Each member of the class was also responsi- ble to help with the Chili Supper. Most of the sophomores kept busy with ac- tivities all year long. Only two more years to go until the class of 88 leave LHS. Those two years will contain a lot of fun and un- forgettable times for them. The sophomores are on their way. The sophomores in French 2 kneeling for their queen, Chris Mauder.
