Nedra Hansen and Star English make last-minute preparations for graduation. Graduation - a time for celebration and a time for tears. Senior Week was a rowdy one, as usual. The pre-graduation parties obviously took their toll on many students who appeared to barely make it through their morning classes. The inevitable fireworks at noon hour also spiced up the week. And graduation morning, when the students showed up for practice, it was obvious that many of them hadn't seen home for a long time. Everyone was excited. Vet when the moment came at last, it was a quiet and subdued group that walked up to receive their diplomas. When it was over, some students cried, some of them cheered, and several breathed a sigh of relief. It was a good feeling to have a diploma and realize all that work was worth it. Vet it was kind of sad to realize that once graduation was over, there were people we would never see again. Also, a lot of people expressed anxiety about the future. There is one small postcript that needs to be added to complete the story of graduation. The juniors couldn't even wait until graduation to proclaim themselves Seniors. A large number of them showed up at school that day proudly sporting shirts saying SENIOR”. And so it starts all over again.
