FOCUSING IN- FOCUSING OUT Focusing In is the theme for the 1982 Lio Legacy. You may ask, why a theme like Focusing In? Well, we pick a theme that best fits the way the high school is running in that year. For example, the change of dress style, the success of a sport's team or maybe even a teacher. In the 1982 Theme, Focusing In, we put the focus on everything from Senior Spirit to Freshmen Initiation, from the basketball team to the base- ball club, from sweatshirts to monogramed sweaters and from Principal Page to (future) Principal Clark. Focus-In on somebody!!!

Mr. Page in his high school days at Bicknell High School. After 34 years service to Loogootee High School Mr. Page has something to smile about!!! Thank you Mr. Page for your many years of services to the Loogootee High School system. Your 34 years of ser- vices and dedication will long be re- membered! Mr. Page contributed greatly to the Loogootee Athletic tradition in that he coached varsity basketball during the '53, '54. and '55 seasons. He was varsi- ty baseball coach for nine years winning several conference championships and Martin-Daviess County Tourneys. He also served as Athletic Director for nine years. Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Page, base- ball was reactivated on a high school level in 1952-1953. His first game with Odon on September 9, 1952 ended in a 4 to 4 tie, and was called because of darkness. He organized the Martin-Da- viess County Tourney which generated a lot of local interest. The tourney was comparable to the present IHSAA Sec- tional. It was played each fall from 1953 to 1966. During the summer of 1953, he expanded to a summer baseball pro- gram, which is still in operation, to in- clude Little League teams, Pony League teams and a High School team. Mr. Page operated this program for several years and influenced the lives of many youngsters with his unique style of guid- ance. 5
