HEALTH OCCUPATIONS The Health Occupations course was started this year as a part of the Twin Rivers Vocational Health Occupation Program based at Loogootee. The first task of the group was to learn the many procedures of the health field before going deeper into each facet of learning. Each member of the group is now certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, and during school vacations, the students are employed in various area hospitals, nursing homes, and veterinarian clinics to apply what they have learned. Ms. Jill Sweikharth is the supervisor and instructor of the program.

NEW FOUNDATIONS” BUILT FOR LHS STUDENTS The Building Trades students have built a house in the Belgrade addition northeast of Loogootee. Mr. Paul Miller is the instructor. It is a three bedroom house, with a two-car garage and many other extras. On the regular Real Estate market the house would sell for approximately $60,000. The profit obtained from the sale of the house will be divided among its investors, and the gain will be used to buy materials for next year's house.
