Holmes) I wrote some linos once on a time To grace the senior page; And as folks will, I thought they'd say, Tf was written by a sage! These lines were sad, so very sad. My mind went wandering far To the things we did, to the things we said, And to things as they now are. I thought to write of the senior class Would surely be no crime. But then, nobody liked my words, And no one liked my rhyme. I visioned members of the class As roaming far and wide; But this was such a bitter thought I laid t hat verse aside. I tried to rhyme each name and deed, 3ut nothing came out right. So, members of the senior class, I now these words Indite: 'Words of farewell weren't meant to rhyme, And though we now must part, The memories to which we cling Will linger In each heart.
