i - Student Council Beginning the year with new ideas and projects, the Student Council held open meetings and gave non- members an opportunity to par- ticipate in club activities. The Student Council sponsored dances after foot- ball games, Spirit Weeks, Twirp Weeks, Western Day, the food drive, blood drive, a Christmas dance and a talent show. Selected members from the council led a group discussion on the five Student Council state pro- jects. The council participated in four state projects, NEED, SMILE, Safety and Scrapbook. Students and teachers were encouraged to par- ticipate in all the projects with the council. Communication with the community was established through a series of television broadcasts hosted by journalism students and Student Council members. This series inform- ed the community of school activities and gave the students the experience of performing in front of a camera. The year ended with the election of new members and officers for the 85-86 school year followed by members attending the State Con- ference in Austin. 212 Organizations Officers: Michael Gallagher, perl.: Eric Harris, v. pres.: Carol Watts, trees., Kim Devine, pres.: Mechelle Whitaker, sec. 3 s , Q V X 1 ' : . ? .f , A - . 5 Q S I K Q s 5 s Seniors: Front row: William Bolls, Kara Kibbe, Monique Matthews.
