life in Uur World Past and Present Foreign languages aren't the only ones to study foreign places. For example, 7th grade social studies classes took a look at the world around them. They studied South America, Europe, and all the other continents. Immigration, wars, and life in the past were among the many units studied by 8th grade students. American government and Colorado History were required for 9th graders. But for second and fourth quarters, they could take their choice between six and three week units on income tax, the Australian continent, ecology and the United Nations. Ninth grade social studies students taking the ecology unit listened to Mr. Ftick Lathrop, from the Environmental Protection Agency.
