Basically we are persuing mathematical interests not ordinarily talked about in the classroom. — Mr. Greenwood. Professor Sidetrack was having a birthday party for his pet orangutang. His orangutang was not a pool shark by any means, but they got out the cue stick and started to shoot the cue ball. The table is 3 ' by 6 ' . I joined the Debate Team be- cause of my great oratorical skill and the lack of a great power on the team. I felt it necessary to contrib- ute my ability and bring the team to the prominence it once held. — Richard Castagna Even though it is very hard to do the necessary research, representing the school on the Debate Team is fun. We ' re not experts, but we try and every- one has a good time. ' ' — Tom Hirsch We have a home debate January 30. We ' d like to have some people come and watch us. — Tom Hirsch The topic is compli- cated but interesting. Anna Fromer and I argue for the propostion and Rich Castagna and Jane Goodman argue against it. — Tom Hirsch We ' re debating the Guaranteed Annual Income to resolve whether or not the U.S. Government should provide a G.A.I, for every Ameri- can citizen. — Mr. Lvnch. Mr. Griffin — There are cheerleaders at Advisor the Math Meets, they say Bill Lavin Prove it, Howard, Prove it. Best of All, We ' re Outdoors. ?? 1 Outing Club: Steven Barry. Greg Clute. Jeff Dillon. Bob Ditmassi. Paul Foerster, Peter Greenberg, Karl Huck, Bill Laub, Cindy Loos, Linda Muller, Mary Jane Riley, Susan Weiss, Christina Weston. We ' ve been mountain climbing, skiing, backpacking. ' - Outing Club is great. Its so different from school; there is almost no structure. We can do whatever we want. Everyone is interested in one another and their activities. We have a bunch of people all wanting to have fun outdoors. — Mr. Mannheim One weekend we hiked the Appalachian Trail. We drove there in cars and hiked the rest of the time. ' ' — Steve Barry I like the outdoors because I like to go out and do stuff. With this club you don ' t have to go looking for someone to do things with. ' — Peter Greenberg 20 Hey, they finally got together a Ski Club. We skiers are finally moving up in the world. Ev- ery Monday afternoon lots of kids go up to Mt. Tom and take ski les- sons. This Day Is Dynamite! Seminar Day is great — It gets a lot of people together that wouldn ' t otherwise. ' ' Political rallies and everything, this is incredible! Yeah, I got my hair cut and best of all, it was free. — Dave Welch. Seminar Day is the best thing. You can really get into many different things. I really think we should have another one in the spring. I didn ' t go to anything and I still had a great time! Diversity is beau- tiful and Seminar Day is certainly diverse. 22
