Every Time I Act Or Speak . . . . . . I Express Myself; I Share A Part Of Me With Others. The Rulers of the State are the Only Ones Who Should Abroad; They may Be Allowed to Lie for the Good And the Town Someone should insti- gate a fourth branch of government for the sole purpose of checking on the government. SIRKA I 2 ' The whole truth 5 Have the Privilege of Lying, Either At Home Or of the State. — Plato; The Republic, Book Three The first thing that comes to my mind when someone says Longmeadow is bor- ing. A Junior One thing I like about the town is the way you can ride your bike all over and not worry. Anonymous Christmas shopping is easy for me. My mother just gives me all her charge cards and I go downtown and buy presents. Patty Kagan This is the ' Let-somebody-else-do-it town. You kids have so much; the apathy is pretty high. Don Lendry Margery R Baisd LIBRARIAN She is among the few indispensable people at LHS. Amid the disorder of shelves, saw- dust, and workmen brought about by the incomplete addition, she keeps order. Always willing to give of herself, she has helped us learn to use and appreciate the library. Those who know her best are familiar with her openness in talking with students and her quick sense of humor. She truly regards students as individuals. The Class of 1974 expresses its deep appreciation for this considerate lady ' s services; we dedicate the 1974 MASACKSIC to Margery Baird. 4 '  6?0RTS FACULTY SENIORS 101 IZZ V •■■ -.y f .— y F fifi. If the ball is at X, 2 ft. from F and is shot at an angle of 45 from AF, which pocket will it go in? Your time has started. You have less than ten minutes left. I joined the Debate Team be- cause of my great oratorical skill and the lack of a great power on the team. I felt it necessary to contrib- ute my ability and bring the team to the prominence it once held. — Richard Castagna Even though it is very hard to do the necessary research, representing the school on the Debate Team is fun. We ' re not experts, but we try and every- one has a good time. ' ' — Tom Hirsch We have a home debate January 30. We ' d like to have some people come and watch us. — Tom Hirsch The topic is compli- cated but interesting. Anna Fromer and I argue for the propostion and Rich Castagna and Jane Goodman argue against it. — Tom Hirsch We ' re debating the Guaranteed Annual Income to resolve whether or not the U.S. Government should provide a G.A.I, for every Ameri- can citizen. — Mr. Lvnch. Mr. Griffin — There are cheerleaders at Advisor the Math Meets, they say Bill Lavin Prove it, Howard, Prove it. They are the sons and daughters of life ' s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, As though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you, For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. Us This kid must be the most unpopular kid in the Freshman Class. I spent the last three classes asking kids who he was and nobody knew. ' ' These guys are really crazy when they ' re mad: Wendy sings and Linda speaks French! Should Laurie be bleed out? This quote idea stinks — nobody ever says anything good. Freshmen are such jerks! In two homerooms, there are only three who want to buy the Yearbook. McKenna lost the whole role of ad pictures? Kick him off ' Doing this ad section is the biggest pain of my life! There ' s no way we can have gymnastics pictures in this deadline — the team hasn ' t even been picked! I tried out for Masacksic because 1 wanted to work on the yearbook, but so far, I haven ' t done a thing — the editors do all the work. Oh, Geez! How am I supposed to tell if this is Rich- ard or Alan Cohen? They ' re identical twins! Snow days are a fantastic gift, but they can sure screw up the Activities section. If this club won ' t stay to get their picture taken, I guess we won ' t put them in. There re too many jokers on this staff just for college brown- ie points. 214 2fi JH ' B I I B I B Hi Hi Hi iii U I I 9 S B B B Hi HUH Hi ill I ■ BilKS Hi Hi Hi Hi Hi I IB B SI Hi iH Hi iii ill Hi u i; B fi B 1 S B L w mm ■ Steve Barry: Photograph) r - — .- . ! Ill ' KM i a p(ip The yearbook used to be super-prestigious. What happened? How do you expect me to draw Peter ' s pictures if he doesn ' t give them to me? Jim Duclos has been in the Year- book so many times, I ' m surprised his head tits in his helmet. Steve, you can ' t take can- dids of only pretty girls. I can ' t stand bossing people around. I like the creative power of being editor-in-chief, but not the power over people. Mike! Neal! Help! Faeult is a riot, but some teachers might be offended. Robin and I can honestly say we know every- one in the senior class. The name of this publication should be Masocistic ! I never talk to Harry and Bill. They ' re so responsible it ' s unreal!
