AT lasT we had accomplished a goal ThaT would male everyone proud ol us. Our high school iazz band Tor 'flue TirsT Time in Three years played Tor a school dance, The Shann- roclc l-Top. Every year iT is cusTomary Tor The SmarTer and SmooTher Club To sponsor a dance. This year we chose The Theme oT Shamrock l-lop and held iT in March near SainT PaTriclc's Day. The Kearney High's EinsTein is Mr. Lou Ninegar, who Teaches boTh chemisTry and physics and coaches boxing. He also sponsors The Science Club. Theme was carried Through wiTh all Those aTTending wearing green and The band having green haTs and bows. Each couple as They enTered The door was given whiTe and green shamroclc pins while singles wore only a green shamroclc. All were given lrish names and The name oT The band Tor The nighT was lvlchlamarais Band, The reTreshmenTs were Paddys Punch and Murphys coolcies. A very en' TerTaining Tloor show wiTh many oT us lrishmen lending a helping hand was The main aTTracTion. The band came ouT wiTh an added aTTracTion To The amazemenT oT everyone, Diclc TripleTT's beauTi- Tul voice as vocalisT senT many hearTs TluTTering inTo space. IT was Diclcs TirsT appearance wiTh The band buT he has become a TeaTured vocalisT now. The l-lop was held in The iunior high gymnasium and was under The general chairmanship OT Delores Richardson.
