V r DEDICA 1' ION Katharine Major To one who has dedicated her life to our school .... to one who has kept an eternal youth .... to one whose sunny philosophy has been infectious to both her students and fellow faculty members .... to Miss Katharine Major, we dedicate our golden anniversary Log. . Having been graduated in 1887, with the third class from Kearney High school, Miss Major returned to the system ten years lateras a teacher in the elementary grades. In 1927, she was transferred from the position of principal of Junior High, which she had held for several years, to librarian, where she continued to reach into our lives, urging and guiding us on to higher goals. Her vibrant personality, her invaluable sense of humor, and youthful outlook have molded Kearney High life and her students. May this be an expression of our true regard for Miss Katharine Major.
