Foltz, Cruit. ailml lUUl0 ll ipyilihya Only 38,9 the junior play, was presented to a large and enthusiastic crowd in the junior High Auditorium Friday evening, December 2. Much praise was due to the people in the play for the sureness in which they managed their speaking parts, and the ease with which they acted their respective roles. Jean Botsford as Mrs. Stanley, and Joseph Reidy, filled the parts of the older leads and Helen Kendall and Kent Stiner, the juvenile leads. Jean Botsford gave much feeling to her role as Mrs. Stanley, the mother- Only 38 - of Lucy and Bob, by her naturalness and simplicity. Kent Stiner and Helen Kendall, as the college students, pleased the audience. Joseph Reidy was Mrs. Stanleyls father, a middle aged man, who had just realized he had enough money to see a little of the world. He was the one who added spice to the play and brought forth much laughter. Other parts were well taken. The committees were: business manager, Elfrieda Petersong assistants: Edith Pledger, Kenneth Daggett and Ellsworth Stephensg property manager: Bernard Reddyg assistants: Ardella Thomas, Kathleen Tucker, Donald Henline and Walter Bennettg prompter: Cora Lambertson. ' Miss Ida May Flader was in charge and coached the play. EugeneALaurant proved to be a magician of great wonder and amazement, when he produced miracles by magic. He was the first number on the course and appeared October 24. Ralph Parlett, a humorous lecturer and philosopher, appeared at the Junior High Audi- torium November 7. This entertainment was as interesting as could be wished for. The Shubert Male Quartet, four gifted vocalists under the leadership of George Minor, held its audience spell-bound, on january 7, with famous songs of the great master, Shubert. The talent for the fourth number of the course was found in the Kearney High School, and used to advantage in the presentation of the Pirates of Penzance, on March 23, as the annual opera. p .
