Your graduation achievement of the most students how to think. someone who has learned his direction come from from the University should mark the fundamental goal of education -- to teach The most important characteristic of how to think is that his knowledge and within. Such a person is the measure of his own knowledge in that he knows when he does know, and when he does not. To him the truth of a proposition is not tested by the number of people who hold the proposition to be true but, rather, in the degree of assent to the proposition given by his own mind. If truth even tentatively exists, as certainly it does, then such a characteristic is directly the opposite of the arrogance it might appear. Those who are likely to be arrogant neither profess have the patience nor the will to understand, but instead opinions which have been borrowed uncritically from others I urge you to continue the education you have begun, seeking mater has for you. You whom we are most proud, true wisdom, and fulfilling the expectations your alma join a distinguished group of alumni, of and we have confidence that your own accomplishments will add full measure to that pride. Sincerely yours, Edward A. Clark
