E take this opportunity of thanking Dr. John Osborn Polak, our Honorary Editor, for the devoted interest he displayed in helping the Board of Editors to publish this volume. - The editors feel especially indebted to Dean Nliller, who assumed responsibility for our financial obligations and aided the Business Department of the LICHONIAN, by relieving them of the burden of obtaining subscriptions and collecting for them. Miss Agnes lVIcNamara was always ready to furnish us with any data at her command, and eager to help us in every way possible. Mir, George H. Dwenger cared for the large volume of mail addressed to us.
