' performances Each member has been given group and indi ' t ' idual instructions in, stage management, stage etiquette, stage make ups, pia ' V pro — duc«-ion and improved stage techniques,. Various dramatic selections have been collected by the clut» and placed in a ia- ' ge sc« apbook for future refe ' ' ence. Each girl has chosen se ' erai of the mentioned selections for intensive study trying to make improvements in diction, breath control poise enunciation and pronunciation The club has presented one play, The Case of the Weird Sisters as a combined nigh - performance with the Glee Club, Stressing the idea that all people are born with a desire to act, hope to enlarge and improve our Dramatics Clubn First Row Peggy Russell Bernice Bennette Betty K|dd Mozelle Elliotte Betty Card en patsy Stafford I Second Row Elsie Williams ; phillis Williams Ann Caldwell;, Jacqualine Sexon,, Peggy Griffin J UNI OR PLAY - 1 9 46 Handsome Tom Arsdale played by Merton Vances and his lady killer room- mate Oke Johnnie Fesperman, were on the verge of graduation from college Tom had a terrific reputation as a woman hater, He wished he tould stop being girl shy ' ' , and meet nice girls like well lik ' e Babs Saniord. Betty Mac- intosh Babs thinking that Tom hated women, decided to do something aoout it She managed to change places with the girl who cleaned up Tom s and, Oke s room Birdie played by Mary Clayton Edwards. This gave her a chance to wo ' k on Tom and just as something beautiful started to develop between them in came Tom. s father Mr, Arsdale Oliver Saxon,, with Sylvis a girl from home, played by Berh Elliott, complicates matters even more- The dignified Dean Dalton Parker did not approve of the entire situation and the gay aunr Dorothy Ha ' t, thought Tom should take the girl of his choice Babs was finally put on the spot when Birdie returned The mix up grew, and poor Tom wished he could just evaporate: i the end however e-« e rythi ng turned out fine for Tom got Babs and everyone was happy Humo r was added to the play by Alfred, a poet, played by Bill Blythe and Asma a colored maid played by Isabelie Caldwell. D-ama and excitement was added to the play by Bill Hough s repre= sent at ion of Chuck Mayo as the roughneck.
