EXPECTATIONS ’87 The Long Branch High School student body is a cross-section of all that is America. Wo arc as diversified as any group can be. Wo represent all races, creeds, nationalities, religions, and socio-economic groups. We all live, w ork, and learn together as a family, ,4s is often the case in a family unit, we have our disagreements. I he mutual resolution of our differences gives us maturity. Maturity gives us hopes, drt'ums, and — expectations. Expectations — the eager anticipation of things to come. We truly do not toko these expectations lightly. As we approach our graduation day, we realize that expectations — to be achieved, must be earned and deserved. W'e do not expect them to he handed to us on the proverbial silver platter. They are goals we are setting for ourselves; ivb must strive to attain them, or they will be forager beyond our grasp. Expectations are what mala s life worth living. Without the dream of a brighter tomorrow there is no need to wake up to the dawn of a new day. } 1 Cl v In this vein, we, the editors of Importations ’87, hope that our yi arhook will ivmmunicate in words and pictures, the expectations we have for to mo i row We have excluded such things us pai fffear. trouble, and sorrow They are a fact of human existence. We have included the expectations that young people hope to achieve and strive for during their lifetime. Expectations that, upon attainment, will give us an inner satisfaction far greater than an accumulation of worldly goods can bring The attainment of these expectations will mean that w e'personally have used our bodies and our minds — not our outstretched hands — to grasp the Imst of all that life can offer. The Class of 19H7 has attained the fulfillment of a goal — graduation. We salute them and leave them with this advice. “Reach for the heaven in eighty-seven. ’’ and you will fulfill all of your EXPECTATIONS! TT I ' Hi ■
