Practice Preparation Produce Professional Band Concert A The Trumpet Section thrills the audience with their rendition of Leroy Anderson’s ATrumpeter’s Lullaby. ▲ The upbeat notes of Clenn Ossei’s Studio One were enhanced by the percussion sections. ▲ Mr. Risden directs the woodwinds, flutes, clarinets, and saxophones in the lilting “Overture for Winds.” How many hours of preparation go into creating a successful band concert? 10? 20? 30? It’s way over 100 hours! That’s how hard the LBHS Symphonic Band practices to achieve their goal — the Annual Spring Concert which held on May 9.1986. Mr. Gerald Risden, band director, was justifiably proud of his talented musicians. The entire band also performs at Senior Chapel, graduation, football games, and local parades and civic functions. A Stephanie Woolwich A The audience tapped their feet to the popular Duke Ellington's themes from Sophisticated tidies. Band Concert 10
