l t 4 WN fha MISS T. APOSTOLACUS Guidance MR. F. WEST Guidance MRS. DOAN Guidance MRS. OPPENLANDER Secretary MRS. G. S. MORRESY Assistant Principal in Charge of Guidance GUIDANCE Indispensable in the organization of our school, the Guidance Department performs many vital tasks, not the least of which is the entire programming for the student body. As all col- lege preparatory students know, the job of the Guidance Department is immense when it comes to the innumerable forms that must be submit- ted to colleges. And yet they always seem to have time for us . . . Not only do they help us understand our- selves by a series of carefully chosen tests de- signed to reveal our potentialities so that We may build our future upon them, but they also help us build this future now by aiding us in the choice of courses, colleges, and careers. The aim of the Guidance ohice is to find the area in which each student can best perform and enable him to develop his abilities to their fullest extent. Their aim is to make each of us Most Likely to Succeed .

LIBRARY LIBRARY STAFF L. to R.: Mrs. T. M. Theus, Mr. M. Levin, Mrs. J. Carmany, Mrs. J. Robinson. Expedient to the basic definition of learning: that we must understand the meaning of a sub- ject and not merely memorize its facts. The li- brary provides us with background material to illuminate and clarify the various phases of the subject matter which we are studying. The library is not a static organization. It is constantly growing by adding new books to its present total of more than 8,000. Its quiet, ef- ficient, disciplined atmosphere is maintained by the able librarians and members of the Library Club. A part of the library with which we are all familiar is the Audio Visual Aids Department. Through the films which they make available, we gain an appreciation of practical applications of the subjectg an appreciation which stimulates interest and promotes intellectual development. i I I
