Principal Dear Graduates, The great American thinker, Ralph Waldo Emerson, described the scholar as that man who must take up unto himself all the ability of the time, all the contributions of the past, all the hopes of the future. The secrets of wisdom through the ages have been passed on by way of the printed word. The members of the Class of '65 have long since forgotten their first amazed reactions in piecing to- gether letters to form words, and words to form concepts. Your year- book theme most appropriately highlights the letters of the alphabet, the keys to the wisdom of the world. You are ready now to use them wisely and well forthe benefit of a waiting world. Dr. Norman Schwartz, Principal Dr. Norman Schwartz

Our sense of time and distance will have altered to the point that our nation will be our neighborhood and our world will be our community. The young men and women of tomorrow will be literate, multilingual, world-travelled and will be reluctant to remain on this planet but will demand the opportunity to seek their future elsewhere in space . . . the nation will face a severe manpower shortage of intelligent and techni- cally prepared personnel. y To the youth of today, I say get all the higher education you can abr sorb. You will need all that and more too, to compete in tomorrow's world. Sincerely, Seymour Pestronk, President Board of Education 8 Murtha Dr Earl F Hannah Kcmanoff
