Senior sTudenTs realized noT only The imporTance oT This, The moTher Tongue oT English, buT also The enioyrnenT which can be experienced only by TranslaTing The original composiTions of such men as Vergil and Ovid. ThroughouT our Tour years The LaTin Honor SocieTy has grown considerably in size. Numerous Teas, inTormal discussions, and Tield Trips have made The Sociefy an imporTanT school club. The oTher Tive include French, Spanish, lTalian, LaTin and Hebrew. TwenTy-Three sTudenTs are now sTudying Russian, and sixTy are enrolled in The Two beginning German classes. In his earnesT desire To encourage The beTTer sTudenTs To conTinue Their sTudy oT a foreign language ThroughouT Their high school career, The Principal of The High School, Mr. Joseph Borzilleri, esTablished TourTh year classes in French. Spanish, LaTin, and Hebrew a few years ago. AddiTional TourTh year classes will be oTTered wiThin The nexT Tew years Tor The oTher languages recenTly included in The curriculum.
