His life is an almost un- accented existence through which he lives day by day in his small but interesting world. Although his experiences include the sensations of happiness and sorrow, beyond these he has not lived. The thrill of being in print, the recognition that is part of the football player and scholar or the acknowledgement that accompanies achievement are not for him. He is the common man. Long Beach Junior College is a campus of such men. They are the Student Body. The many lunchers each noon at the student store, the riders of the crowded buses, the rooters at the games are of this stock. It is to the common man that this candid photographic re- cord of the Yikings ' past year is dedicated. Saga 38 is for the man on the street. Saga 38 was planned to tell the story of Long Beach Junior College for the gear 1937-38. It was composed as a whole, chronologicallg arranged. It is suggested therefore that the reader go through the pages in consecutive order so that the tru« significance mag be ob- tained. A list of acknowledgments and an index will be found in the back of the book. 1TA - ■1 C ' 4 ■' ' • 13 U- _ li ;IOBFri_ , M I W_T I ' _ _ -. I, :  t  11 1 -Miiir SEPTEMBER 1937  8 A. M. 9 A. M.
