Last year Thors and Valkyries served 'to form college traditions, and to them goes the credit for their work. In the spring of 1928, however, all stu- dent body activities were incorporated under the Committee of Cere- monies, the new plan becoming effective for the fall term of the year. During its tenure the Committee had charge of the Freshman Recep- tion at the Breakers Hotel and of all other events connected with Freshman Week. The first annual Thanksgiving Ball was held at the new Masonic Temple under the auspices of the Committee. In De- cember another revision made the Rally Committee a separate group and put the representative of arts as chairman of the new Committee of Ceremonies. The original members of the Committee for the first semester were: Phillip Gregory, chairmang Dorothea Bell, Mildred Ketcherside, and Harold Seymour. 10
