CABINET SECOND SEMESTER As a tribute to his efficiency, the student body cheerfully amended its constitution in order that Bill Davis might remain its president for the second semester, and then elected as his co-workers a cabinet which has been the most active the college has had since its inception. Not in the least among the factors which contributed to the second semester cabinet's success was the ever-ready advice and assistance of Mr. Jackson. He was in evidence at every affair which the council put under way, and at every cabinet meeting, always ready when problems needed solving. The cabinet has nothing but praise for Mr. Jackson. For the second semester members of the cabinet were: Bill Davis -------- President Margaret O'Connor Vice-President Joseph Bobbitt Secretary Hugh Linnell - Treasurer Dorothea Bell - Representative of Arts Al Davis - - Representative of Athletics Representative of the Student Body - - Editor of The Viking - Adviser John Fletcher - Marguerite Clark Charles W. Last year Thors and Valkyries served 'to form college traditions, and to them goes the credit for their work. In the spring of 1928, however, all stu- dent body activities were incorporated under the Committee of Cere- monies, the new plan becoming effective for the fall term of the year. During its tenure the Committee had charge of the Freshman Recep- tion at the Breakers Hotel and of all other events connected with Freshman Week. The first annual Thanksgiving Ball was held at the new Masonic Temple under the auspices of the Committee. In De- cember another revision made the Rally Committee a separate group and put the representative of arts as chairman of the new Committee of Ceremonies. The original members of the Committee for the first semester were: Phillip Gregory, chairmang Dorothea Bell, Mildred Ketcherside, and Harold Seymour. 10
