The 1983 Volleyball team completed its regular season schedule with a 9-8 match record. In a remarkably well- balanced conference race, the Lionettes finished in a 4 way tie for third in the seven team league. Among the vic- tories were triumphs over state-rated Wapello and a highly regarded IMS squad. Led by All-Conference performers Mary Rayner, Donna Nicklaus, Laurie Yakish, Lora Prybil, Tonya Prybil, and Lynn Godsey, and a superior supporting cast, the first-year coaching staff of Chuck Baumann and Wanda Anderson considered the 1983 cam- paign a successful one. Bolstered by a constantly improving JV squad, an exceptional group of freshman and sophomores, and returning letterwinners Tonya Prybil and Lynn Godsey, the 1984 season looks to be a promising one.
