GRADUATION 1984 CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE The 1984 Seniors graduated from the Lone Tree High School on Sunday, May 13, at 2:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. Those graduates who wore the traditional gold braids, which signified a 3.0 minimal accumulative grade point average throughout high school were Trisha Comer, Debora Eden, Christine Lenz, Rick Musser, Donna Nicklaus, Lora Prybil, Mary Rayner, Kevin Stebral, Mike Waldschmidt, and Lori Yedlik. The graduating students received various awards and scholarships for the outstanding skills they displayed throughout their high school careers. These awards included: Mary Rayner—Valedictorian, Carrie Stanley Scholarship, Iowa State University Scholarship, State of Iowa Scholar Award, Presidential Academic Fitness Award, and Jr. Academy of Science medallion. Donna Nicklaus—Salutatorian, Kiwani’s Club Scholarship, R.J. McElroy Trust Scholarship and the University of Iowa Honor Scholarship, State of Iowa Scholar. Kevin Stebral received the Gerard Nicklaus Scholarship. Chris Lenz received the Farmers and Merchants Saving Bank Scholarship for the Senior with the highest grade point planning to at- tend a technical school or area community college. Trisha Comer and Doug Kautz were presented the 5th Annual Elmer Herring Scholarship. The Lone Tree Chapter of the T.T.T. Society honored Lori Yedlik with the T.T.T. Scholarship. Debora Eden was presented the American Citizen- ship Award. Rick Musser was presented the State of Iowa Scholar Award, Presidential Academic Fitness Award and the Jr. Academy of Science Medallion. Guest Speaker for the event was Terry Kruse, American Legion Member. Mrs. Deborah Cordes sang “Against All Odds.” Commencement exercises concluded with Lone Tree School Board President Audrey Dodson presenting each graduate his her diploma. 15
