IS v DANCING IN THE RAIN The memorable event of this year’s homecoming was the weather-it ruined almost everything. Homecoming started off with Spirit Week, where students dressed to show their support. Included were the days: Nifty Fifties, Dress alike. Backwards, Kneedown-waist up (mismatched clothing), and Black and Gold day. The traditional bonfire was held on the night before the game, but due to the cold rainy weather the parade had to be cancelled Friday afternoon. The rain continued into Friday evening and through the game. Tire game was close and hard played but it seemed no matter how hard the Lions tried they couldn’t score. The game ended with the score Wapello 14-Lone Tree -0. After the game, LuAnn Coan and Keith Hotz were crowned Home- coming queen and king at the dance. The grand march was accompanied by music from Smokey Moses, followed by the dance. Even though the weather was bad and the game was lost, the dance was a success for Homecoming 1977. SPENDING TIME The weekend. “Two days of no school and lots of time to bum around!”.. .the typical thoughts of a healthy student. It all starts with cruizing the town on Friday night and maybe crashing a party or two. Most will probably agree that it feels good to sleep in on Saturday morning too! The majority of the fun comes Saturday night when most make their usual stops at McDonalds or Applegate’s before catching a movie. Or do you prefer bowling? For those of age, another favorite is hitting Maxwell’s or Grandaddy’s for raps and a full night of dancing and fun! A little some tiring dif- ferent goes on for each and all. Sunday always seems a little dull with the thought of school lurking in the back of our minds, but everyone is al- ready looking forward to the coming Friday for the fun to start again!
