The Junior Class of Lone Tree High School presented the Junior Class Play, The Haunting of Hill House, on November 14, 1972. Included in the cast were Randy King as Dr. Montague, Tammy Simmons as Mrs. Montague, Renee West- lake as Mrs. Dudley, Ann Langenberg as Eleanor Vance, Pam Mills as Theodora, John Dvorak as Arthur and Kevin Dodson as Luke. Nancy Schomberg served as Assistant Director, and David Yakish as Stage manager. The stage crew was made up by Renee Westlake, sound; Teri Rotter, lights; Cindy Bell, prompter; Lynn Davis, prompter; Debbie Zibilich, prompter; Lori Westfall, Diane Forbes, Gwen Forbes. Diane Burnett, Lynn Mus- ser, Julie Jensen, Colene Grecian, and Teri Keep, props and make-up; and Jim Slaughter, Jim Schreiber and Rick Y akish. The Haunting of Hill House is an adaptation of the novel, THE HAUNTING by Shirley Jackson. Itconcemsan experiment conducted by Mr. Montague in a house reputed to be haunted. Dr. Montague is a psychic researcher who gathers together three people who have had experiences, in hope that Hill House will perform for them. At night, after the practical housekeeper has gone home. Hill House does indeed seem to be full of things that go bump in the night, but they all seem to be directed toward Eleanor, rather than Dr.Montague, Luke or Theodora. Strangely enough, Eleanor seems to be as attracted to the house as it is to her. When Mis. Montague, arrives with the obnoxious Arthur Parker, the ghostly phenomena increase. Finally realizing what kind of hold the house has on Eleanor, the doctor attempts to send her away. Although she begs to stay, he is firm. At the last moment, Eleanor is possessed by a desire to turn the steering wheel of the car as she goes out the drive. She realizes too late what she is doing and crashes into a large tree.
